【正文】 ures as Food, the No. 1 need of human necessities, is one of the most prominent and representative aspects of human civilization while it is also regarded as an enjoyable luxury at a higher level. About a year and a half ago,.I decided to choose menu translation as the tentative topic of my Master39。s thesis as a result of a random enlightenment from Prof. Fan ShouyiAfter careful consideration and meticulous weighing of the pros and cons, I have chosen the topic measured against my own academic strength. In the regard, I was determined to cement it as my thesis theme for my keen and irrimense interest in food and menurelated knowledge, and I think that I have the capacity to expound on the topic after thorough study and investigation of relevant resources and materials. Thus the rough outline initially in my mind gradually evolved to be a full picture of an interesting exploration with constantly added and enriched ideas and points. Though limited in time and experience, I hope I have covered the most important parts of my subject which may move forward to blaze the path for future enthusiasts exploring the treasure house of menu translation and the wonderful cuisine world. During the preparation of this thesis, I have received kind and generous assistance from my teachers whose inspiring ideas and conscientious academic attitude have greatly facilitated my work.
