It can also increase the understanding of news background knowledge, which makes it possible for us to e into contact with hot issues in the world and widen the horizon of knowledge. Students can be trained to write a word helping remember a sentence’s meaning and use the pause interval in the listening material, to quickly consolidate the shortterm memory. In the meantime, there are some barriers which prevent learners from understanding news mentioned in details, including pronunciation, cultural barriers, vocabulary, grammar and psychological barrier. Corresponding strategies are put forward to deal with the barriers. Some of the approaches mentioned are concluded from the perspective of theory, not practice. Thus, the result wouldn’t be the same as one’s expectation when those ways are put into practice.
