As a child, he was unfit and didn’t have any interest in sports at all. In his teen, he became a student of Sri Chinmoy, an Indian meditation teacher, and encouraged by his teacher, Ashrita was active in different sports games, trying breaking the Guinness records. Over the last 25 years, he has broken about 93 Guinness records, over 20 of which he still holds. Ashrita believes that one’s body is just an instrument of the spirit and one can use his spirit to acplish anything.
