Following is the sequence: Project Identity Established in FRS: As soon as a project enters eTracker as a Pending Launch Project, the project is automatically established in FRS. The financial status is blank. Step 1 Black Belt Activity: When the project bees Active in eTracker, the project is added to the FRS Projects List. As soon as the project progresses to the point where an estimate of benefits by month can be made – must occur before the Measure Gate is plete –, the BBLT (or PRJSPNSR) enters the local currency, the estimated financial control date, and the monthly Revised Benefit Projection for the project. At this point the project financial status bees Revised. The FREP cannot set the actual Financial Control Date for the project until the Revised Benefit Projection is entered. The BBLT (or PRJSPNSR) continues to modify the projections as appropriate through the first month of Financial Control. Projects can be identified as NPI/NPV or Risk Mitigation projects in this step if appropriate. Step 2 Financial Rep Activity: When the project is determined to be in financial control, the FREP (or LFREP or BMGR) sets the Financial Control Date in the Project Details screen. Once the Financial Control date has been saved, the project financial status bees Controlled. Step 3 Financial Rep Activity: The FREP or LFREP reports Realized Benefits monthly as they occur. Riskbased validation automatically books the revised benefit projections as realized benefits where validation is not required. Step 4 Financial Rep Activity: During the 2nd month of financial control, FRS calculates the annualized benefit based on the realized benefits yeartodate and ten months of revised benefits. The FREP approves this system calculation as the Certification Amount. When the Certification Amount is approved in FRS (and the Closeout is approved in eTracker by the PRJSPNSR), the financial status changes to Certified. Step 5 Financial Rep Activity: During the 6th month of financial control, FRS calculates the annualized benefit based on the realized benefits yeartodate and six months of revised benefits. The FREP approves this system calculation as the Rewards Amount. (Projects must be in the Certified financial status and have approved Rewards Amount to be eligible for rewards payout.) Step 6 Financial Rep Activity: When Rewards payout is approved for a project, the FREP enters the amount of the payout in FRS. The financial status then changes to Rewarded. FREP has edit capability between the 6th and 12th months of control. Step 7 Financial Rep Activity: Realized benefits are entered through the 12th month of financial control. At that time the project is considered plete and is no longer displayed in FRS. 6 Sigma Financial Reporting System – Release June 20xx Caterpillar Confidential: Green 5 Section 1.
