【正文】 orbid sb. to do →allow sb. to do 語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)3 which were forbidden作foods的定語(yǔ)從句?！ helist included most of the things Hugh loves: butter, potatoes, rice, beer，milk, chocolate, and sweets. 這張單子上的大多數(shù)食物都是休平時(shí)喜歡吃的：黃油、土豆、米飯、啤酒、牛奶、巧克力和糖果?！ ≌Z(yǔ)言點(diǎn)1Hugh love是things的定語(yǔ)從句，該定語(yǔ)從句省略了關(guān)系代詞that/which 語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)2 冒號(hào)后的所有內(nèi)容都是對(duì)休喜歡吃的東西作補(bǔ)充說(shuō)明?！ esterday I paid him a visit. 昨天我去看望了他?！ ≌Z(yǔ)言點(diǎn) 表示“拜訪某人”的表達(dá)有： 1) visit sb. 2) call on sb. 3) look sb. up 4) pay sb. a visit I rang the bell and was not surprised to see that Hugh was still as fat as ever. 我按響了門(mén)鈴，當(dāng)看到休仍和往常一樣胖時(shí)，我并不感到驚奇. 語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)1 ring the door bell按響門(mén)鈴 語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)2 as... as ever表示“依舊……”,原句實(shí)際上是個(gè)省略句式，補(bǔ)充完整應(yīng)該是：...that Hugh was still as fat as he ever was. He led me into his room and hurriedly hid a large parcel under his desk. 他把我領(lǐng)進(jìn)屋，慌忙把一個(gè)大包藏到了桌子下面?！ ≌Z(yǔ)言點(diǎn)lead sb. into somewhere把某人領(lǐng)進(jìn)某地；show sb. out of somewhere把某人帶出某地 It was obvious that he was very embarrassed. 顯然他感到很尷尬?！ ≌Z(yǔ)言點(diǎn) it是形式主語(yǔ)，that引導(dǎo)主語(yǔ)從句，that之后的內(nèi)容是真正的主語(yǔ)。還原為一般句式應(yīng)該是：His embarrassment was obvious. When I asked him what he was doing, he smiled guiltily and then put the parcel on the desk. 當(dāng)我問(wèn)他正干什么時(shí)，他內(nèi)疚地笑了，然后把那個(gè)大包拿到了桌上?！ ≌Z(yǔ)言點(diǎn) 句中包含由when引導(dǎo)的時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)從句和由what引導(dǎo)的賓語(yǔ)從句。
