in Ionic LiquidWANG LIGONG ZHANG ZHENLIN XING GUANGZHONG LI QINGSHAN(State Key Laboratory of Metastable Materials Science and Technology,Hebei,Qinhuangdao 066004,China。 College of materials Science and Engineering,Yanshan University,Qinhuangdao, Hebei, 066004,China)Abstract:In this paper, the polymerization of styrene (St) employing AIBN as initiator in six ionic liquids containing BF4- as anions, which have different length carbolic chain at 90℃, was mainly discussed. Compared to polymerization in benzene, both the rate and the numberaveraged molecular weights obtained were higher, as experiments proved. The effect of using different ionic liquids, reaction time and the amount of ionic liquids on the reaction results had been investigated.Keywords:Ionic liquids, Radical polymerization, Styrene
