Hello! Jihee! You are from the Kjonggi University, right?宋:Right!梁:Which year are u studying in?宋:I’m in year two 2 right now.梁:Year 2… And which major?宋:I’m major in Economy.梁:Do you know anything about the enrollment of university in your country?(你對(duì)你學(xué)校的招生政策有所了解么?)宋:I am not professional and know that so exactly but I know a little.(我不是很專(zhuān)業(yè)但我有點(diǎn)了解)梁:Yeah. So what’s the system like? The enrollment system which after your exam, before you enter the university? (那么,招生的政策是怎樣的呢?)宋:Er…After the Exam, they apply for the university according to their score. If they got high score, they can enter better school, like that.(我們也是按照分?jǐn)?shù)選學(xué)校的)梁:Should they interview? Or just require to the…(需要面試么?)宋:Some schools require interview but some schools are not. It depends on school.(有些學(xué)校需要,那要看情況)梁:Oh... So if you have such system like, you will enter in big categories of a profession first. Then in the first and second year you will take the general courses, and then the third year you will go into specific stream. Do u have such system in your country? (那么你們有沒(méi)有就是入學(xué)后分在一個(gè)大類(lèi)里面學(xué)習(xí),第一二年有些通識(shí)的課程,然后第三年就分特定的專(zhuān)業(yè)?)宋:Actually there’s not. There is not such system. But some schools have such system but that’s not so I mean…(實(shí)際上是沒(méi)有這樣的招生政策的)梁:Not Popular?宋:Not Popular and it39。s not a mon thing to do in the universities of Korea. You know in Korea, they just choose whatever their profession in the first year and they take that course for four years.(在韓國(guó)一般都是直接選專(zhuān)業(yè)的)梁:Four years all the way through? So you are under that system?宋:Right!梁:So you will choose the profession immediately after choosing of university.宋:Right! That’s right.梁:Up to your knowledge, you find that not many universities have such system right?宋:Right, right. Not many.梁:So as far as you know, if the universities have the system, they will hold general education courses in the first two year. Up to your knowledge, do you think that is reasonable?(就你的認(rèn)識(shí)來(lái)說(shuō),你認(rèn)為通識(shí)教育合理么?)宋:I think so. Because, you know, the high students, after they graduated from high school, they don’t know exactly what they really want to do, right? So I think, in the first year and second year, it’s better for the school provide general education er…(我覺(jué)得合理,因?yàn)橥ǔ4髮W(xué)生剛進(jìn)大學(xué)都對(duì)自己想要的東西不明確,如果第一二年有通識(shí)的教育會(huì)好點(diǎn))梁:In such field?宋:Yeah. Right. In that way, they can fully know what field they are good at.梁:They can clearly find that what they are interested in or what is good to them.宋:Right!梁:If there is such kind of enrollment, will you take part in?宋:Er, er, right…梁:Are you very sure of your way and direction of your life?宋:Sure?梁:You are sure what way you want to go and choose the specific stream or instead, you will choose the categories? And after the two years, you will get into the specific. Which way do you prefer?(你會(huì)選擇大類(lèi)還是非大類(lèi)生呢?)宋:The second one. First and second, get general study. And the third and fourth year focus on the small subject. That will be more helpful I think, for the students after they graduated from the university.(我會(huì)選擇大類(lèi)生, 第一二年學(xué)習(xí)通識(shí)課,第三四年就專(zhuān)注專(zhuān)業(yè),這對(duì)學(xué)生有很多幫助的我覺(jué)得)梁:so you think it’s efficient to take the general courses in the first two years or the first year.宋:Right. Right.梁:Thank you. And do you think it39。s helpful for training the qualified people who are more petitive?(你覺(jué)得需要培養(yǎng)有競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力的專(zhuān)業(yè)人才么?)宋:Yes. I think so. Because they know another area through the subject. They can be more creative when they graduate from school. And I think, the third and fourth year, they are more serious then they are willing to learn their subject, right? It39。s better for students to be more professional to specific.(是的,我覺(jué)得有必要)梁:But at the same time they are clear with other stream…宋:Yes! Right!梁:So do you think there’s much difference between two kinds of students?(你覺(jué)得大類(lèi)生和非大類(lèi)生有什么區(qū)別么?)宋:As far as I know, I think there is not much difference but they must be different. When they start to work, outside the school, the one who e from the school providing general education in first and second year, they know more. And it39。s better than the one who just learn one subject.(我覺(jué)得,會(huì)有很大區(qū)別的. 當(dāng)開(kāi)始工作的時(shí)候, 接受過(guò)大類(lèi)教育的學(xué)生會(huì)知道得更多)梁:will your school give you the detailed introduction of different professions?(你們學(xué)校會(huì)給你們?cè)敿?xì)的專(zhuān)業(yè)介紹么?)宋:Before they enter into the university or?梁:before…宋:I don’t think so. It’s all up to students.(沒(méi)有吧,我覺(jué)得是靠學(xué)生自己的)梁:Ohh, when you enter in the university, will you have any choices to change your profession?(你們進(jìn)大學(xué)后有機(jī)會(huì)轉(zhuǎn)專(zhuān)業(yè)么?)宋:Yes, there is. But it39。s very hard to change your profession. Because you should take a test, and at the same time, you should have very high GPA. And the most important thing is, there’s not much space. If you want to enter in the subject, I mean… the profession. The one in that profession must fail and that way they can go into there.(可以的,但是非常難的,因?yàn)槭紫饶阋荚?然后平時(shí)的績(jī)點(diǎn)要求也很高. 最重要的是名額不夠,如果你想進(jìn)那個(gè)專(zhuān)業(yè),得有人空出來(lái)才行)梁:As far as I know, there must be several professions in a categories, such as in BBA, there’s Finance, Accounting, Marketing. Among these subjects, some of them are very popular and some of them are not popular enough. They are not petitive enough. And the school will let students give out a choice. But mostly, it will depend on their GPA. And the GPA plus their willingness. Do you agree with this kind of selection?(我知道有些大類(lèi)有很多專(zhuān)業(yè),但必需基于他們的績(jī)點(diǎn),你同意通過(guò)成績(jī)選專(zhuān)業(yè)這種方法么?)宋:Er…Er… Partially yes. According to the profession they choose, the future job will be different. It’s like in the munity society. It’s like in the market system. We must be strong in order to survive. It’s how the world works right now. In one way, it’s irrational. But emotionally, it’s very tough for students. Even though they don’t have high GPA, but they also want to take the subject in order to get a good job in the future,
