State Key Laboratory of Biocontrol, Sun Yatsen University, Guangzhou 510006, China Abstract: In this paper, the natural conditions, soil properties and the main problems existing in slope land with red soil in Guangdong are discussed, and the countermeasures for the sustainable agricultural utilization are approached. The paper suggests that to plan reasonably, to strengthen the control of water and soil loss, to improve the soils and to exert the local advantages in order to promote the arrangement of agricultural production structures, should be the principal strategies for the utilization of the slope land with red soil.
