【正文】 意到。 2)charmer，魔術(shù)師。巫師。 3)at the other side of，在另一端、另一頭、另一邊?！ s soon as he saw us, he picked up a long pipe which was covered with coins and opened one of the baskets. 1)pick up，拿起。pick up也表示接人、學(xué)會(huì)等?？蓞⒖冀滩牡?92頁中難點(diǎn)部分的內(nèi)容。 2)which引導(dǎo)的定語從句，用來修飾先行詞a long pipe。which可以用that來替換。 3)be covered with，覆蓋著、滿是?！ hen he began to play a tune, we had one first glimpse of the snake. 1)play a tune，演奏曲子。 3)remark，評(píng)論、注意到。 4)have a glimpse of，瞥一眼。注意glimpse與glance的區(qū)別：glance多表示“有意的一瞥”,強(qiáng)調(diào)看的動(dòng)作，所搭用的動(dòng)詞多為cast、give、take等有意發(fā)出的動(dòng)作。glimpse多表示“無意的一望”,強(qiáng)調(diào)所瞥見的東西，所搭用的動(dòng)詞多是catch、get、gain、obtain等非有意發(fā)出的動(dòng)作?！ t rose out of the basket and began to follow the movements of the piple. 1)rise，不及物動(dòng)詞，上升、起床。注意與raise(及物動(dòng)詞，升起)的區(qū)別。 2)follow，跟隨、跟從。 3)movement，move的名詞，表示運(yùn)動(dòng)、移動(dòng)?！ e were very much surprised when the snake charmer suddenly began to play jazz and modern pop songs. 1)本句中的very much用來修飾surprised，但其實(shí)可以用very來修飾，因?yàn)閟urprised是形容詞化的過去分詞。 2)注意句中的suddenly被提到began之前，而不是句末，是為了利用句子尾重的原理，突出耍蛇者所要彈奏的音樂?！ he snake, however, continued to ‘dance’ slowly. 1)continue to do sth.，繼續(xù)做某事。注意continue有兩個(gè)形容詞：continual(斷斷續(xù)續(xù)的)和continuous(持續(xù)不斷的)。 2)dance在此用了引號(hào)，一來說明蛇本身是不會(huì)跳舞的，二來也是與slowly一起說明蛇其實(shí)也是聽不懂音樂的?！ t obviously could not tell the difference between Indian music and jazz. 1)obviously，明顯地。注意b會(huì)發(fā)生爆破音的消失現(xiàn)象。 2)tell the difference between...and...分辨兩者間的差異。
