The booming economy was reflected in all the aspects of life in the novelby the economy prosperity in the big city, Carrie went to Chicago, full of the illusions of ignorance and youth. She faced the city had its cunning wiles, she couldn’t judge it. She rapidly assumed the cosmopolitan standard of virtue and became worse.
