【正文】 in China all her life, 21 year old Xie Lei was very nervous when she got to London, so she is glad she decided to plete a preparation year first. It has given her the time to get used to the English way of life and how different everyday English is from the English spoken on the tapes she studied at home. Some foreign students choose to live in student acmodation while others like Xie Lei choose to live with a host family. She finds she can learn more about the culture this way and if she doesn’t understand something, she can ask her host family for advice.
