ed and do better than others inspires(激勵(lì) ) us to work harder. If there were no petition, a sports meet would never be exciting and successful, and we would never have champions(冠軍的地位 ). No doubt, we often find there is an inseparable(不可分離的 ) relationship between petition and cooperation. In a football match, either team is peting with other. But each member of the team is cooperating with his teammates. We cooperate with others to be more petitive。 we pete to earn a better environment for cooperation. Thus we can make progress(前進(jìn) ) continuously. Only petition together with cooperation leads us to realize our goals and satisfy our needs. Competition Competition is a mon phenomenon(現(xiàn)象 ) in our social life. We pete when we play games and when we try to do better than others in our study. There is constant(不變的 ) petition for academic(大學(xué)的 ) degrees, jobs, customers, money and so forth. In a sense(感覺(jué) ), petition is one of the motive(推動(dòng)的 ) force to the development of society. In the natural world, the weak will be replaced by the strong and the fittest can live。 therefore, the only way to survive(活下來(lái) ) is to be petitive. Growing in a petitive environment is important for a child because future adult life is difficult. Finding a good job, for example, is an extremely petitive activity. Today, most people obtain knowledge through various ways and a large number of people get good education. There are also many people who have higher degrees in their special fields. The quality of people is rapidly increasing. Competition is more violent(激烈的 ) that what we thought it should be. The potentially(潛在地 ) successful job applicant(申請(qǐng)人 ) has to be prepared in a stronger position by gaining more qualification(資格 ) and experience. In the sports contests(競(jìng)爭(zhēng) ), the strongest will e out as winners. They bee our heroes and they are glorified(贊美 ). In the business world, to beat your petitors, you must be better than 9 the other employees. Otherwise you will be defeated(擊敗 ). In fact, the only way our world reward(報(bào)答 ) people is to give laurels(殊榮 ) to the winners, not to the losers(失敗者 ). What is more, by attempting to pete at different activities, we learn to win and lose, gain experience and know our strengths(實(shí)力 ) and weaknesses. Competition prepares us for the tough(堅(jiān)韌的 ) things in life. To go ahead, to acquire possession(所有物 ), we should be petitive. To us, industriousness(勤奮 ) and ambition(抱負(fù) ) are positive(確實(shí)的 ) values. Whether in games, in study or in business alike, the aim is to win the game, the degree, the trophy(戰(zhàn)利品 ), and the contract(合同 ). Learning to be petitive is clearly the best preparation for life. Hard life is good for children In china, with the enforcement(強(qiáng)制 ) of the birth control policy, most parents have only one child. The parents and grandparents have shown too much love to their only child。 the number of spoiled(被寵壞的 ) children has increased in China. Consequently(必然地 ), how to bring up the child bees a serious problem to many young parents. The only child has shown plete dependence on the parents. Many five to sevenyearolds still hang(懸掛方式 ) on their patents in almost every aspect of life, from buttoning cloths to going to the toilet. These children have never learnt to do elementary household chores(家庭雜務(wù) ). Even worse, the only children tend to be ill mannered and selfcentered. They often fight over something instead of cooperating together. Parents give them calculators(計(jì)算者 ), turn on the television and leave the teaching to teachers. Some parents even offer material incentives(鼓勵(lì) ) to reluctant(不情愿的 ) children to lure(引誘 ) them to learn and to do something. They are a generation of kids who have never been hurt or hungry. They have learned somebody will always do things for them. The key to solving the problem of spoiled(被寵壞的 ) children lies in correctly educating both children and adult. In my opinion, hard life is good for children. Parents should be used to saying no to the kid, and let a child do hard work. Working hard will give him an opportunity to taste the bitterness quickly. Besides, hard work may enable him to cherish(珍愛(ài) ) the fruit of the others’ labor. Human society is full of tests and trials. Flowers from a greenhouse(溫室 ) can never withstand a storm. Children who live luxuriously(奢侈地 ) and fortably can never bee somebody in the future. Besides, to reduce the chance of spoiled children, parents and society must work together. Meanwhile, both primary and nursery(幼兒室 ) school should step up their efforts in training children. Imagination Everyone says,” there is always a gap between imagination and reality, the former is always more ideal(理想 ) than the latter.” Although most people know that we cannot equate imagination with reality, people still find it hard to resist the temptation of imagination, for it is so sweet and wonderful, especially for me when I was working hard for my university dream in high school. Endless homework, heavy pressure couldn’t prevent me from drawing a fascinating(迷人的 ) 10 picture of the university life in my mind. Students are sitting leisurely(悠閑 ) on the green lawn, playing romantic songs with the guitar, or walking along the treelined pathway(小徑 ), talking and laughing heartily… I imaged a large and beautiful campus, bright, clean classrooms, and cheap, tasty food. Reality is, on most occasion, inferior(低等的 , 低于 )imagination. When I was a university student, I found what I had imagined was far beyond reality. Instead of sitting on the lawn singing songs, the students were seen reciting(背誦 ) English texts aloud。 instead of walking cheerfully(歡樂(lè)地 ) along the small paths, they were walking hurriedly with books under their arms. I never expected to live on the sixth floor, the highest story. Every day I had to drag(拖著 ) myself to my room after class, out of breath. And t
