Using expanded simple sentences Journalists usually expand a simple sentence by adding many modifiers to verbs and nouns, so as to contain much more information. This kind of sentences can be called expanded simple sentences. An expanded simple sentence is usually a paragraph. According to the forementioned analysis, journalistic English is readable, understandable, attractive and factual. The word choosing and sentence arrangement both follow certain rules including those mentioned above. Journalistic English, as an important English style, has received and will receive more anymore attention, for Journalistic English is a basis on which we study the tendency of the development of English. However, the above analysis on the grammatical features of Journalistic English is not very deep going and prehensive.
