MA: Cambridge University Press.THE DIFFERENTIATION AND PERFORMANCE OF EMBEDDEDNESS: AN ANALYSIS OF THE EMBEDDEDNESS OF INTERFIRM NETWORKSAbstract: The relationship between economy and society has always been focused by the economic sociology, which has been constructed into a grand economysociety theory. And it is used to give a whole analysis of this relationship on the basis of a critical perspective of economics. By generalizing the concept of social embeddedness, economic sociologists obtain a new way to probe the economic activities, that is to say, from the social structure and social works’ viewpoint to study the 11 / 12legalization of our economic life. However, few systematic studies about the embeddedness have been made so far. The reason, I think, is inadequate understanding or little emphasis on the one hand。 the plexity of the conception itself and multilevelanalysis angles on the other. With this as a starting point, the author gives a whole analysis about the development of the theory of embeddedness and the relationship between embeddedness and performance of a firm embedded in the interfirm works as a key to the question of how to achieve a better embeddedess.
