【文章內(nèi)容簡介】 s.D. Not to take costs into consideration.10. What does the underlined word “immersive in Paragraph 4 probably mean?A. Impressive. B. Intelligent.C. Independent. D. Involved.11. What is the author39。s attitude towards the headset?A. Positive. B. Indifferent.C. Ambiguous. D. Opposed.DSocial conflicts, from policy debates to family disagreements, can easily develop into angry words and personal attacks. Such heated conflicts, however, seldom settle disagreements and can lead to worse outes. A better approach to dealing with interpersonal (人際的)disagreements is to apply characteristics of wisdom, like intellectual humility (恰當(dāng)?shù)闹t遜),diverse viewpoints, and openmindedness. But applying these elements of wisdom can be difficult, especially during conflicts. The trick, according to a new research published in the journal Psychological Science, is to train yourself in advance to reason about interpersonal conflicts in a wiser manner.“People typically fail to reason wisely when facing social conflicts, so we designed a way to help them,“ said Igor Grossmann, director of the Wisdom and Culture Lab at the University of Waterloo,Canada. Our basic idea was to train people to see situations from a more objective, thirdperson angle. This approach enables people to recognize the limits to their knowledge, acknowledge different ways the conflict may lead to, and consider and balance multiple viewpoints.According to the researchers, by switching the angle from the first person to the third person, a person bees better able to evaluate their own knowledge and appreciate alternative views. To test their hypothesis (假設(shè)),the researchers conducted two field experiments. Grossmann said, “Our research showed effectiveness of the thirdperson diary writing for a change in wisdom pared to the firstperson diary reflections, and that the distanced — self — reflection led to gradual development in wise reasoning about personally challenging incidents. The data suggest that this increase in wise reasoning occurred because the distanced — self — reflection broadened people39。s typically narrow selffocus. This research provides the first empirical (實驗的)evidence for the trainability of wisdom in daily life when working through challenges.12. Why is it significant to settle the social conflicts?A. Because conflicts can result in a worse relationship.B. Because conflicts can avoid one39。s selfreflection.C. Because conflicts can push people to think differently.D. Because conflicts may lead to a promise.13. What can help to reduce the conflicts according to the author?A. Firm determination. B. Selfawareness.C. Agreed standard. D. Broad viewpoints.14. Which statement is consistent with Grossmann39。s finding?A. Firstperson reflection improves the problemsolving skills.B. Thirdperson diary writing can promote the conflictsettling ability.C. Selffocus is helpful in dealing with interpersonal disagreements.D. Social conflicts can develop people39。s reasoning ability.15. What can be a suitable title for the text?A. Reflection Matters in Decreasing DisagreementsB. Social Conflicts Do Great Harm to RelationshipsC. Training Helps to Cope with Social ConflictsD.
