Conclusion 22References 22Globalization in the business arena has increased the need for businesspeople to be sensitive to the culture and etiquette of other countries. This understanding can help establish and nurture positive longterm business relationships.To succeed in a global economy, executives must be aware of cultural differences, styles, and expressions that are internationally nonoffensive. In order to establish a relationship that will be mutually beneficial, knowledge of international protocol is indispensable in today39。s global arena. This thesis is mainly divided into six parts, including introduction, literature review and factors on business etiquette, the importance of business etiquette, influences, and the conclusion. In the literature review, it mainly expatiates on the definitions of business etiquette, its classifications and two opinions about this subject in the business circle. In the third part, it describes about three factors on business etiquette: time notion, space notion and value notion. From these factors, it can be learned that business etiquette varies from region to region. In the forth part, it mainly discusses the importance of business etiquette from munion, harmony, education and maintenance. Moreover, it also presents several examples in the context to demonstrate the importance of business etiquette in these aspects. The fifth part is about the influences of business etiquette, including promoting personal qualification, relationship benefit, passing information, longterm cooperation and behavior standardization. This part also gives examples as justifications to these points. The leitmotiv of this part is to present a truth that how business etiquette affects business.2. Literature review The definition of business etiquette In the daily life, people often mention business etiquette, especially after China entered into World Trade Organization. The most accepted definitions of business etiquette are listed below.Business etiquette is a kind of behavior guideline in the mercial activities, which means it is a behavior standard to restrict every aspect of daily business activities (Xiao, 2003:2).Business etiquette can be defined as a standard that businessman should stand to during business intercourse ().From the above definitions, it can be concluded that business etiquette is a kind of standard restricting every aspect of businessmen behaviors in the mercial activities. That means is a kind of principle that every businessman needs to stand to during business activities.There are many kinds of business etiquette. From the major aspects, business etiquette is divided into eight kinds. There are as follows: treating, visiting, intercourse, meeting, negotiation, ceremony, traveling, and banquet etiquette. There are many other sorts of classifying business etiquette。 however, the above classifications one is the most widely accepted. To deal with the interpersonal relationship, it is necessary for businessman to focus on “three A principles”. The main idea of this principle is as follows. The first “A” stands for the word “accept”. “Accept” means to accept the other side. Just as “Clients are the God”, is often heard from the advertisements of panies (). To achieve this, businessmen need to notice the following aspects: 1) never interrupt others。 2) never renew the idea of the other side。 3) never make corrections for others. Following the above aspects, businessman will establish good relation with business counterparts.The second one stands for the word “appreciate”. “Appreciate” means to regard the other side as importance (). That is to say, it is good for businessmen to treat counterparts as important as God. It is very impolite to point out the shortings of the other side. Meanwhile, it is wise for businessmen often address someone respectfully with honorific title. The last stage is to remember counterpart. Even when a businessman in an occasion that he can not memorize names, it is also wise for him to say hello to them. He will leave a good impression on the counterpart by doing so. The third one stands for “admire”. “Admire” means to praise the counterpart. That is to say, it is good for businessmen to be good at finding the excellent quality of the other side (). However, there are two aspects that businessmen should pay attention to. The first is that the things to be praised should be practical and realistic and the second is that it should be focuses on the key aspects.
