With the continuing decline in availablefarmland, it will be more and more difficult to produce enough food forour growing population. This development is a direct threat to our nation’s economic strength.Therefore, the land law should be strictly enforced. We must bedetermined to save every inch of farmland, plant more trees to preventfurther erosion, build more dams to implement flood control, and takeall necessary steps to solve this problem. Our land is our most preciousresource. We must save it.The Dislike for Original, Creative Men in Our SocietyIn our new society there is a growing dislike of original,creativemen. The manipulated do not understand them;the manipulators fearthem. The tidy mittee men regard them with horror, knowing thatno pigeonholes can be found for them. We could do with a few original,creative men in our political life—if only to create some enthusiasm,release some energy—but where are they? We are asked to choose betweenvarious shades of the negative. The engine is falling to pieces while thejoint owners of the car argue whether the footbrake or the handbrakeshould be applied. Notice how the cold,
