c know that we’ve got to rebuild this country, which is why I want to spend half of the money that we’re saving on wars we’re no longer fighting to build our roads and our bridges and our we also know that if we’re going to restore a sense of middleclass security, that we’ve got to make sure that we’re rewarding businesses that are investing here in the United States, not businesses that are shipping jobs know these we can do we can do it in a balanced one of the big arguments we’re going to have over the next four or five months is, how do we pay for stuff? And I happen to believe that it makes sense for us to make these investments, to make sure that Social Security and Medicare are still there for the next generation。t do those things just because it was good for one group or one did it because we understood that when everybody has got a shot, no matter what you look like, no matter where you e from, we all do that39。s how we sent a man to the moon, that39。that all of us have responsibilities。re basically saying you’re on your own, and when everybody is on their own, somehow we’re better we’ve got a contrasting vision that says we are stronger together。re putting forward have been tried them between 2000 and 2008, and it resulted in the most sluggish job growth that we’ve ever seen, resulted in all kinds of phony financial profits and debt, and resulted in the worst financial crisis and economic crisis we’ve seen since the weit’s not as if they39。t have the kind of opportunities that we want them to have and that America needs them to so we now e to this point, this election where the American people are going to have a choice, and this choice is going to be as important as any choice that we’ve made in a very long time。t take the proper decisions.(Applause.)We’ve doubled our production of clean energy, even as our oil production is higher and our imports of oil from other countries are ended the war in Iraq as promised, and we’re now winding down the war in Afghanistan.(Applause.)And so we’ve done a lot over these last three and a half years to make sure that the country was able to manage through this crisis that we have not seen in our lifetimes weI did not just run and you didn39。re like this.(Laughter.)But I want to thank Raj for outstanding Attorney General, Eric Schneiderman is in the house, so please give him a big round of applause as well.(Applause.)So we’ve been busy.(Laughter.)We’ve got a few things to do ’m here to ask for your help, but I’m also here because your country needs your we ran four years ago I think we all understood that the campaign wasn’t just about was about the mitment we made to each other to make sure that this country lived up to the meaning its idea that all of us, if we worked, if we tried, we could make it here in Americaregardless of what we look like, where we came from, who we loved, what our surnames were。we39。ve ever been to make sure that this country stays on the right pathwe39。ve still got a lot of work to do.(Applause.)So bottom line is I still believe in the American people, and I still believe in I hope you still believe in me.(Applause.)Because I39。I39。re going to have to keep those fires burning all the way through November and I39。re going to have to be more means that that passion that we brought to bear in 2008 is going to have to express itself maybe not in such flashy form, it39。re going to be fighting against this that means we39。s the 39。re going to have to fight against cynicism and a belief that maybethings can39。ve been President for three and a half part of the reason it39。m older and grayer and your “Hope” posters are dogeared(laughter)2008 in some ways was lightening in a 39。s what39。s not the America I believe 39。re on your you39。re on your you39。m remindedI just came from SeattleI told a roomful of folks, some of whom work for Microsoft, Bill Gates is a genius, Steve Jobs is a genius, Mark Zuckerberg, amazing what they39。ve got rules so that folks who are engaging in fair dealing and providing good products and good customer service, that they39。re going to be able to pay the bills and enjoy their remind people when folks talk about the free market, you won39。ve got Medicare that they can count on, and they39。m walking down the street and I see some elderly couple holding hands and they39。t worry about I think their lives will be better if every child in America has opportunity and a good education and can go to college without worrying about being loaded up with tens of thousands of dollars worth of will be a stronger America for Michelle and Ipeople have mented on the fact that I39。ve all got a stake in each other.(Applause.)And I39。t run through the differences in all the it es down to is they have a different vision about how America , I think we work best when we39。ve set for this country and that of my opponent could not be starker, and the stakes couldn39。re not 39。s why projects all across the country have been built putting construction workers back to of this has been in pursuit of the goal that we originally talked about in 2008, and that was creating an America where everybody had a shot。s why we39。ve doubled clean 39。t pete doing 39。t have a system in which the recklessness of a few can can bring down an entire 39。s why we worked on health care reformnot because it was popular, but because it was as a consequence, 30 million people will have health insurance that didn’t have it before.(Applause.)That39。ve managed crisis, even as we39。that everybody had a fair shot and everybody did their fair share and everybody played by the same basic values had been dissipating for a decade or so that39。re doing okay, they39。re actually making good cars(applause)that people are banking system has worked through a lot of these issues and slowly things are ing as Jeffery said, we still have so much work to 39。re now at a place where we39。t have to lay off their employees, folks who are out of work supporting e
