Step 1 up the mask, say “This is Lulu.” Have the Ss repeat. Repeat the activity using all the character masks. a book in the classroom. Make sure that all the Ss can see it Say , This is a book. Repeat it for a pen. 1. Play the tape the Ss touch the matching picture. 2. Hold up one of the cards and say:“ What’s this ?”Have the Ss read after me.“This is a book.” 3. Have a student touch or hold up a book or a pen ,etc. And say , What is this ?Have another student give the answer. Do it several times. Step 2 Play a game. : Open the book. Point to each of the objects in turn, naming them in English as I do so the Ss work in pairs to check their answers. each pair in turn to give the English word for a missing object. Step 3 Talk together. T: Open your book. Draw the Ss’ attention to the top of the page. Read the words slowly, pointing to each word as I say it . Substitute two of the Ss’ English names for underlined names in the text. Step 4 Listen and number. the Ss open the book. Point to the picture, have the Ss repeat the words as they point to the picture in their books. . the tape. Touch the correct picture as they hear the pictures. Step 4 Let ’ s chant 1. Use pictures to review the words: Elephant, egg, flower, fire 2. Read the rhyme to the Ss, point to each word. Tell the Ss that they are going to learn a rhyme about a naughty elephant. 3. Play the tape for the whole rhyme and have Ss listen and point to the words and the matching pictures on the page. 4. Play the tape again and have the Ss join in . 5. T :Point to the pictures as you listen to
