【正文】 finite element analysis。Weight Reduction Design and Analysis for the Brake Caliper of a Sport Utility Vehicle Huiwen Hu1 Tzuhsuan Huang2 1,2Department of Vehicle Engineering,National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, TaiwanEmail : huiwenAbstract This paper presents the weight reduction design and analysis of the brake caliper for a sport utility vehicle (SUV) by using CAD/CAE technique. A puteraided design software (UniGraphics) is used to rebuild a 3D detailed model of the caliper. A mercial code, ANSYS, is used to establish a finite element model, including the caliper, piston and disc. The static analysis is conducted on the model to obtain the deformation and stress level of the original caliper.
