【正文】 Abstract：This paper conducts a sociological study on the market economy and the religious faith, with the aim to study the latent infuence of the traditional religious faith upon the market economy in the context of China’s reform and openingup. The focus of this paper is to explore the close relationship between the faith in China’s Buddhism and the cultivation of the entrepreneurship.The reform and development of China’s socialist market economy require the formation of an outstanding class of entrepreneurs. To achieve this, we need to nurture and carry forward sound entrepreneurship. As the soul and character of the modern entrepreneurs, the most important players in the practice of modernization, the entrepreneurship has bee an important and integral part of the modern spirit since the industrial civilization. Entrepreneurship is also the bined product of the social system changes and the historical and cultural trnsmutations in the modern times.Since China took the reform and openingup policy, the society has involved in a wave of economic globalization, characterized by the information and capital globalization. In this context, the traditional faith in China’s Buddhism has also undergone severe tests and faces a lot of opportunities and challenges. At the same time, more and more Chinese entrepreneurs have been deeply influenced by Buddhism and bee pious believers and followers of it. Based on the study and analysis, the author maintains that the Chinese entrpreneurs believing in Buddhism are an excellent and integral entreprenerial group in China, with distinguished entrepreneurial spirit. In their business operation and practice, they exterminate the evil and follow the good under the guidance of the Buddhist tenets and the merciful spirit of giving donation,speaking love language, doing good to people and working together, the entrepreneurs have shown their outstanding entrepreneurial spirit and the spirit of Mahayana, which benefit both the self and others.
