ConclusionFrom the analysis of Scarlett’s views of love and marriage in Gone with the Wind, we can see that Scarlett is idealistic and uncertain towards love, and holds a purposeful and unserious attitude towards marriage. In terms of love and marriage, Scarlett is confused almost half of her life. She marries again and again, but she never marries Ashley, the only man in her eyes and her heart. At last, she realizes that for many years, Ashley is just an imagination of her and the real man she loves is Rhett, who always hides his love to Scarlett with his flighty speech. Unfortunately, Rhett finally is tired and decides to leave her.
