of the water seal and produce the specified pression (C=13 177。 5mm)at the water seal .see drawing of as follow .2.13 2 The location of the water seal center line on the ends of the hatch cover can be regarded as a constant (45mm from the skirt plate surface ).2.13 3 The location of the inclined water seal center line on the longitudinal hatch cover sides shall be confirmed every 1 metre according to the (Fig 2) distance H1 shall be measured and recorded at the same go .With the hatch cover resting on the bearing pads measure and record distance H2 every 1 metre .The height of the pression bar H at any location is to be calculated from formula .H = C+H1+H22.13 4 Install the tightening bar acc. to the marked line maintaining the correct rubber pression C= 13 177。 5mm (see Fig 3) .Trim the pression bar where necessary for pensating the local deformation on the coaming top in order to achieve the correct pression .2.13 5 Weld the pression bars and grind the welds so that smooth, continuous sealing surface is achieved This is vital for the weatertighness of the cover as well as for the long service life of the rubber packing . .2.14 Operation and Hose Test2.14..1 Weathertightness test At the time of hose test, check that the packing surface of the hatch cover is pletely free of dust ,paint and grease which may cause water leakage from packing .Clean also the tightening bar .2.14..2 The hose test to be carried out according to the rules of the classification society involved .2.14..3 Operation testCheck that every sliding or rotating part is greased well in advance before the test .Measure the operation pressure and operating time required in the test for opening and closing each vover and check against the figures in the hydraulic .2.15..CommissioningCarry out a plete opening / closing cycle and check / record following items for each cover .2.15..1 Hydraulic opening pressure ,corresponding current of motors and time needed for opening .2.15..2 Same items when closing the cover 2.15..3 Functioning of indication lamps .2.15..4 Functioning of emergency stop arrangement .2.15..5 Functioning of the emergency operation arrangement .2.15..6 Functioning of security devices in open position .2.15..7 Functioning of quick acting cleats .一. HYDRAULICS3.1 Inspection the equipment for possible damages caused by transport or storage transportation and site conditions shall be controlled in such a way that deterioration of ponents and ing ress of contamination into the ponents is prevented pipes and ponents awaiting assembly should be stored in dry place or at least elevated and covered 3.2 When assembling hydraulic systems,it is very important to keep all impurities away from the system .Typical impurities are .,chips, welding slag and grinding dust .All ponents have left the factory in clean condition .3.3 When installing hydraulic ponents, make sure that all ports are plugged, Do not step on hydraulic power packs, valve groups, pipes or cable are not designed as scaffoldings . 3.4 Whenever handling hydraulic power packs ,valve groups, cylinders lift them only from indicated points ,Mark sure that slings do not strain the pipe work and never attach the slings on pipes or ponents .3.5 Keep hydraulic power packs, valve groups, cylinders, loose valves, starters and cables at all times covered with inflammable canvass when carrying out any kind ‘hot work’ (welding、flame、cutting)where ever these ponents could get damaged .3.6 Make sure that welding current does not go through the cylinder or other ponents and cause thus expensive damages to a separate ground cable on the working object for the welding current .3.7 Installation of Cylinders3.7 1 Cylinders shall not be stroked by pulling This might damage the seals .3.7 2 Do not lift the cylinder from the end eye see drawing as follow .
