The method was based on the reaction of dopamine with sodium nitrite in aqueous medium, and the product had a maximum ab sorption at 300nm, with E 300=1. 85@104l mol 1 cm 1. Effec ts of pH, heating time, standing time and foreign ions were tested. The absorbance for dopamine from 0to 10L g P mL obeyed Beer c s law. The linear re gression equation of the calibration graph was A = 010436c +0100591, with a correlation coefficient of 019978.
