【正文】 his career. But he once said, I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that39。s why I succeed. These people succeeded because they understood that you can39。t let your failures define you you have to let your failures teach you. You have to let them show you what to do differently the next time. So if you get into trouble, that doesn39。t mean you39。re a troublemaker, it means you need to try harder to act right. If you get a bad grade, that doesn39。t mean you39。re stupid, it just means you need to spend more time studying. No one39。s born being good at all things. You bee good at things through hard work. You39。re not a varsity athlete the first time you play a new sport. You don39。t hit every note the first time you sing a song. You39。ve got to practice. The same principle applies to your schoolwork. You might have to do a math problem a few times before you get it right. You might have to read something a few times before you understand it. You definitely have to do a few drafts of a paper before it39。s good enough to hand in. Don39。t be afraid to ask questions. Don39。t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. I do that every day. Asking for help isn39。t a sign of weakness, it39。s a sign of strength because it shows you have the courage to admit when you don39。t know something, and that then allows you to learn something new. So find an adult that you trust a parent, a grandparent or teacher, a coach or a counselor and ask them to 己也不要輕言放棄。因?yàn)槟惴艞壛俗约?，就是放棄了你們的國家? 美國人可不是輕易在困難時候就放棄了的民族。美國人是永遠(yuǎn)堅(jiān)持，不斷嘗試，深深熱愛自己的祖國并為之盡自己全力的民族。 美國的歷史講述了 250年前的學(xué)生坐在今天你們坐著的地方，發(fā)起了革命，建立了今天的國家。 75年前的學(xué)生就坐在今天你們坐著的地方，戰(zhàn)勝了經(jīng)濟(jì)大蕭條，贏得了世界大戰(zhàn)的勝利，為公民權(quán)力而戰(zhàn)，把一位宇航員送上了月球。 20 年前的學(xué)生就坐在今天你們坐著的地方，創(chuàng)建了Google, Twitter和 Facebook，改變了今天我們的交流方式。 所以今天，我想問問你們，你們的貢獻(xiàn)將會是什么？你們將會解決什么問題？你們將會有什么探索發(fā)現(xiàn)？ 20年， 50年，或者是 100年后的總統(tǒng)會站在這里，講述你們?yōu)閲易龀龅氖裁簇暙I(xiàn)？ 你們的家庭，你們的老師還有 我盡我們最大的努力來確保你們得到回答這些問題所需要的教育。我正在努力修整你們的教室，使你們得到學(xué)習(xí)需要的課本，設(shè)備和計(jì)算機(jī)。但是你們也要做好自己應(yīng)盡的職責(zé)。所以我希望你們今年能認(rèn)真思索，盡全力做好每一件事情。我希望你們每一個人都能有驕人的成績。所以不要辜負(fù)我們的期望，不要辜負(fù)你的家庭，你的國家，以及你自己的期望。讓我們都為你而自豪吧。我知道你們一定能做到。 謝謝你們 help you stay on track to meet your goals. The story of America isn39。t about people who quit when things got tough. It39。s about people who kept going, who tried harder, who loved their country too much to do anything less than their best. It39。s the story of students who sat where you sit 250 years ago, and went on to wage a revolution and they founded this nation. Young people. Students who sat where you sit 75 years ago who overcame a Depression and won a world war。 who fought for civil rights and put a man on the moon. Students who sat where you sit 20 years ago who founded Google and Twitter and Facebook and changed the way we municate with each other. So today, I want to ask all of you, what39。s your contribution going to be? What problems are you going to solve? What discoveries will you make? What will a President who es here in 20 or 50 or 100 years say about what all of you did for this country? Now, your families, your teachers, and I are doing everything we can to make sure you have the education you need to answer these questions. I39。m working hard to fix up your classrooms and get you the books and the equipment and the puters you need to learn. But you39。ve got to do your part, too. So I expect all of you to get serious this year. I expect you to put your best effort into everything you do. I expect great things from each of you. So don39。t let us down.
