Secure the container at an angle of 45??to the major axis (see Figure 11). Using a suitable clamping device, hold either (10 ??2) mm of the tip of the nipple of the teat or (10 ??2) mm of the sides of the accessory which have been pressed together in line with the major axis. Apply a preload of (5 ??2) N at 45 degrees to the major axis of the feeding teat or drinking accessory to ensure alignment, prior to increasing the force to (60 ??5) N in the same direction, at a crosshead speed of (200 ??5) mm/min.
