The current SCM system is for shipyards and the identified valid longterm suppliers: only these two different kinds of identifications are allowed to login so far. On the left tree structure part in Fig. 12 including several functionalities, the IT or procurement department have individual authorities to execute them. A XML document can be also downloaded for each one procurement order and the content/value can be stored into SQL and ORACLE database after being parsed. The XML DTD is also planned to be a synchronized operation with Product Data Management (PDM) information, which contains vendor, product and consultant information, technology and industry research, white papers, case studies, user forums, news updates, newsgroups, conferences, and seminar announcements. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS The launched threeyear SCM system has sustained serious tests and nonstop modified for the practical need, as a consequence of supporting timely, appropriate and correct outfitting for the shipyard, which lets the shipyard satisfy shipowners39。 requirements with good quality as fast as possible. Furthermore, some functionalities are planned to develop such as supplier grading, electronic procurement and so on. Substantial progress toward reducing material costs and improving delivery time depends on a deeper integration of the shipyard and suppliers39。 internal processes into the production system of the shipyard For providing gradually mature SCMs with each block39。s construction date, a reliable system automatically generating block structure scheduling to offer the date naturally emerges. Through a series of collaborative integrations for existing and developing systems, involving the Knowledge Management system, Microsoft Project 2000, block structure scheduling, and SCMs etc., a plete functionality39。s ECommerce system is progressively acplished. Under the VS construction, this paper discusses the functionalities of the supply chain system, which we actually establish pletely. The achievements are that aiming at the feature of shipbuilding to plan the functionalities, and use relevant technologies to establish a set of B2B Emerce supply chain management system, which improves the information transmission way of the traditional outfitting supply chain, and makes the suppliers able to offer outfitting on time, right quantity and quality to dramatically reduce the time to municate and pursue materials. Because the current process for purchase orders is so plicated that CSBC is not ready to operate these orders on the internet yet. The process needs to be adjusted to be simplified and standardized for practicality, and then will be implemented in the serial plan for CSBC39。s SCM system. Presently, only in the CSBC SCM system can the XML document style be accepted in use for data exchange。 furthermore the expectation to utilize . Shaw, W. Tann and . Chuang: The Establishment of the Supply Chain Management System for the Bigsized Shipyard 178this XML document to municate with others outside SCM systems etc., the definition of XML document style standard between shipyards and suppliers in shipyard outfitting must be pragmatically efficiently integrated in the next step.
