【文章內(nèi)容簡介】 om the middle and uppermiddle class.”[2] The party boss of Conservative Party is David Cameron who is also the Prime Minister of the UK now. It advocates a mixed economy and encourages property owning. The Labour Party is the major leftwing party and is also one of the two governing parties and it has been in power for three terms. It is mainly supported by people from the workers and middle class. It advocates workers’ interests, democratic socialism and social equality. The Liberal Democrat Party is the leftwing party. In the past, it is one of the two main parties, but now it has been declined. The twoparty system is the developmental product of the British parliamentary system. In this system, many things can realize equal. There are two main political parties in America: Democratic Party and Republican Party. “It suggested that there will always be twoparty system in the United States simply because it works well to get two names on the ballot for every office.” [3] If politics is about winning and losing, then it is obvious that who wins and who loses. In the past, the Democrats advocated policies of benefiting famers and encouraging education. However, the Republicans have paid more attention to business. The most important thing in America is that the presidential election has a closely connection with American parties. The parties serve the presidential election and the presidential election promotes the development of the parties. Elections and CampaignsBritish election refers to the election of the House of Commons. The House of Lords has on election because they implement hereditary system but the House of Commons implements general election. “The importance of parties and of the people in the British system of government can best be appreciated by seeing what happens at a General Election.”[6] A General Election means everyone has the right to vote, despite of his or her sex, age, race, belief and social status, but there are also some limits on some aspects. For example, the voter must be a British aged over 18 and live in the electoral district at least three months. What’s more, every voter can vote only one candidate. A general election is held every five years in the UK and it follows firstpastthepost election system. At present, the direct electoral system is the main election system in the UK. The method of the election involves two aspects. One is the method of dividing the electoral district and another is the statistical approach of vote.“United states presidential election implemented indirect election system.”[4] It means not the citizens of the country decide who the President is. Instead, they first vote the representatives from the states who vote the President on their behalf next. These representatives constitute the Electoral College. Representatives and senators from the states are voted directly by the citizens. In American election, there is a system called “winnertakeall” which means the candidates who get the most votes will get all the votes and win. The electors should meet the requirements above: Who are above 25 years old and has been an American citizen for at least 7 years can run for representative in Congress. Who are above 30 years old and has been an American citizen for at least 9 years can run for senator in Congress.I think the main difference between the two election systems is the way to vote. In the UK, they vote directly but in the US they vote indirectly. The President in America is produced by voting but the Queen in the UK is hereditary. There are also many small differences such as the requirements o
