Chapter Summary At the pletion of this chapter, you learned how to: ? ? 應(yīng)用 ?Select Within? Chapter 3: Introduction to Autodesk MapGuide Author Objectives After pleting this chapter, you will be able to: ? Chapter 4: Working with Map Layers in Autodesk MapGuide Author 10 ? Chapter 4: Working with Map Layers in Autodesk MapGuide Author 11 Autodesk MapGuide Author 支持用戶定義的符號和固定大小的符號 for both points and API。 ??? Chapter 4: Working with Map Layers in Autodesk MapGuide Author Figure : Popup menu amp。 toolbar button to access Map Window Properties Web Chapter 4: Working with Map Layers in Autodesk MapGuide Author 13 General Figure : General tab of the Map Window Properties dialog box While naming a map or changing the background color might be selfexplanatory, the Take Center And Size From Current Zoom function might not be. In order to begin the process of creating a map for an application, you typically start by defining the maximum extents of the map. Then you can determine map layer properties for additional levels of specificity. By zooming into a country so that its geographic boundaries are within the view of the Autodesk MapGuide Author window, you can use Take Center And Size From Current Zoom to center the map within that window. This map is the base on which additional map layers are transposed and overlaid. Coordinate System The Coordinate System tab enables you to specify or change a map39。s coordinate system (Figure ). Chapter 4: Working with Map Layers in Autodesk MapGuide Author 14 Figure : Coordinate System tab of the Map Window Properties dialog box A global coordinate system is a description of the origin of a map, the projection system used, and the units being used. It describes how the sphere of the earth is projected onto a flat plane and converted to the Cartesian coordinate system. The following options should be considered when selecting a coordinate system for your maps: IV. Use the same coordinate system as the other staff in the anization. V. Use the same coordinate system as the most mon data source. VI. Use the same coordinate system used by people sharing the same data. the area is small, use the same coordinate system as the local city or county government. If the area is large, use the same system as the state, regional, provincial, or national mapping group. surveyors, cartographers, consultants, and other mapping professionals for suggestions. Note that Raster images will usually be georeferenced to a specific coordinate projection. Map makers have to cope with the problem of taking lines that appear straight on the earth39。s curved surface and drawing them on a flat map. Map projections refer to the techniques cartographers and mathematicians have devised over the centuries to depict all or part of a threedimensional, roughly spherical surface (like the earth) on a twodimensional, flat surface (like this page) with minimal distortion. Traditionally, cartographers did not routinely change from one projection to another, largely because of the plex mathematical calculations required. However, with the advent of digital mapping, changing projections has bee both essential and easier. It is important to annotate all maps with the projection and related parameters of a digitized map. This information is required for calculations with global coordinate systems. Chapter 4: Working with Map Layers in Autodesk MapGuide Author 15 NOTE: Changing a map?s coordinate system only affects how the map is presented to the client. The source data in the SDF files on the Autodesk MapGuide Server must remain in generic decimal Lat/Long coordinates or conform to the predominant projection. The following Map Window Properties dialog box tabs will be discussed in Chapter 5: Reports The Reports tab enables you to create, change or provide access to dynamic reports. Zoom Goto The Zoom Goto tab enables you to specify direct zooming to a selected location on the map. Popup Menu The Popup Menu tab enables you to create or change the popup menu. Popup menus appear in Autodesk MapGuide Viewer map window when you rightclick over the map. Security The Security tab allows you to implement windowbased password protection for a map. A word of caution here: MWF passwords can not be overridden. Should you fet the password embedded in an MWF file,
