輯推理,從而選出正確答案。4.閱讀理解 It can be a real struggle trying to learn a new language. I had always enjoyed learning languages in school, but only recently did I start learning German. I found that I could understand and learn individual words easily, but when it came to literature, I really struggled. That was when my tutor at university suggested reading some children39。s books printed in the target language. At first, I felt a bit silly going on a hunt for a book designed for someone half my age, lout then I realised that everyone has to start somewhere. As children, we are given these basic texts to familiarise our brains with certain vocabulary and writing structures, and from there, we can learn and develop. I started with books which are taught to us as children in the UK. I managed to find Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens and James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl. The beauty of reading books that were introduced to you as a child is that you are already familiar with the plot. As a result, you can work out some of the definitions of words with your prior knowledge of the story. At first, I used to read with the book in one hand and a dictionary in the other, but this method did not work well for me. The method I would remend is to read a chapter of your chosen children39。s book and at the end of that chapter, highlight the words you do not know and then look up the definitions. If you can wait a bit before you use a dictionary, you may be surprised what you can get merely from the context of the sentence in the story. Additionally, a lot of children39。s books have pictures which may give you a clue as to what or to whom the passage is referring.(1)Why was the author advised to read children39。s books? A.Because she was weak in reading great works.B.Because she was slow to learn language.C.Because she liked children39。s literature.D.Because she couldn39。t remember any words.(2)What can kids get from children39。s books according to the passage? A.Vocabulary and listening skills.B.Learning methods.C.Words and structures.D.Designing skills.(3)What causes the author feel surprised while reading children39。s books? A.Grasping the context from the pictures.B.Looking up the definitions of words from a dictionary.C.Getting familiar with the plots of the story.D.Understanding the words simply from the context.(4)What can be the best title of the passage? A.Reading Children39。s BooksB.The Way of Learning LanguagesC.The Method of Using DictionaryD.My Good Reading Habits【答案】 (1)A(2)C(3)D(4)A 【解析】【分析】本文是一篇記敘文,作者在學(xué)德語(yǔ),因?yàn)榭床欢膶W(xué)作品,開(kāi)始看德語(yǔ)兒童書籍,得到了意外的驚喜。 (1)考查細(xì)節(jié)理解。根據(jù)第一段中的“ I found that I could understand and learn individual words easily, but when it came to literature, I really struggled. That was when my tutor at university suggested reading some children39。s books printed in the target language.”可知作者只能理解單個(gè)的字詞,理解不了文學(xué)作品,所以她的導(dǎo)師建議她看一些用目標(biāo)語(yǔ)言寫的兒童書。故選A。 (2)考查細(xì)節(jié)理解。根據(jù)第二段中的“As children, we are given these basic texts to familiarise our brains with certain vocabulary and writing structures”可知兒童在看兒童書時(shí)可以熟知其中的詞匯和寫作結(jié)構(gòu),故選C。 (3)考查推理判斷。根據(jù)最后一段中的“If you can wait a bit before you use a dictionary, you may be surprised what you can get merely from the context of the sentence in the story.” Losing a wallet is one of those careless acts most of us have e across, at some point or the other in our lives. While most of us tend to move on after mourning over the lost necessities, there are a few lucky ones who get them back, with the help of the police or the generosity of the person who finds it. Now, thanks to the astonishing power of social media, the post finally reached the man behind the note. The man was identified as Todd Brown and it was one of his coworkers who made sure Jeannie Shamatt39。s post reaches his colleague. Jeannie turned to Facebook again to thank Brown and his family for restoring her faith in humanity. I try to teach my children to do the right things in life, help people when you can regardless of the oute. This story is more about restoring faith in people than anything. We hear a lot of bad news but not enough good news. I personally want to thank Todd Brown and his wife for restoring faith that there are amazing people out there.(1)How did Hunter Shamatt get his wallet back?
