Show the pictures and the teacher say something about the picture using the past simple irregular verbs as a model. Then show other pictures, the students can do it. Explain to the students although there are many mon verbs in English which have the regular past simple form. Tell them this means they will have to learn them individually . Put up some of the mon verbs, as follows: Infinitive Past tense go went get got have had leave left meet met see saw spend spent swim swam take took Step 2 Read out the names of the place a nd have the students repeat after the teacher. Ask them to find the place on the map. Step 3 Revision (This activity provides the students further practise) Ask the students to say something about the journey in the past and now. Eg: It usually takes me nine hours to get to Los Angeles. (last Sunday) It took me ten hours to get to Los Angeles last Sunday.
