【正文】 functionalist Skopos theory with examples quoted from eleventh chapter of Africa 2050 Realizing the Continent’s Full Potential based on the author’s translation experience. This translation project is acplished by the students of MTI (20xx) in Beijing Normal University. The project is related with agriculture and economics, which is practical and specialized. Many difficulties appeared in course of translation, such as terminology and plicated sentences. This thesis attempts to analyze the features and difficulties of agricultural and economic text and summarize the corresponding translation strategies based on the functionalist Skopos theory in order to provide some advice to the translation of agricultural and economic text. This report consists of five chapters. In the first part, the paper introduces the influence of emerging market economies and analyzes the necessity of the research on agricultural and economic text. In the second chapter, the author depicts the translation project from three points, including the project itself, the original content, and the target reader. Next, the author displays the stylistic features of agricultural and economic text from the perspective of both vocabulary and syntax. In the fourth chapter, this paper presents the functionalist Skopos theory and concludes the strategies in translating the terminology and plicated sentences. In the end, the author reflects on the entire process of the translation project.
