And they play a primary role for working well and calculating precisely in power system. With the development of national economy, all kinds of new voltage levels and current levels emerge continuously, the high precise of measurement and protection are demanded increasingly. Traditional current transformer can not meet the high demand of the power system. However, Rogowski coil‘s structure is simple, high accuracy, linearity, under certain conditions, the Rogowski coil can be used as a substitute of the current transformer. In this paper, the relations between dimensions and electromagic parameters of the Rogowski coil have been studied as well as their influence on the dynamic performance of the coil . In this paper, the relationship between the coil‘s dimension parameters and electronic parameters is analyzed respectively. The mathematical model of the coil‘s dimension parameters is founded in detail. There are three different cross sections of Rogowski coils, that are Rogowski coils with rectangular cross section ,with circular cross section and with cross section in racetrack shape. Three typical mathematical models of Rogowski coils are introduced in this paper. Matlab and the equivalent circuit, the methods of optimizing both dimensions and electromagic parameters of the coil are proposed. This can be as a guide to design a coil with high performance to measure current.
