Time period: 19671974 1973 : Sal/Emp The ratio of the average salary per employee to VA/Emp average value added per employee in 1973 In this study, we gathered timeseries data for the 19671974 period from manufacturing as well as from textile and apparel industries in the 21 industrialized and developing countries listed in Table I [UN, Year book of Industrial Statistics, var. iss.]k The change in dollar value of exports of manufactured goods, textiles, and apparel were used as the dependent variables. Most of the variables contribute to explaining the variation in export performance. Table 5 shows the correlation coefficients for the variables used in the textile and apparel industries.
