【正文】 : 課程名稱:高級(jí)英語 學(xué)分/學(xué)時(shí): 課程層次: 專業(yè)核心課 修讀類型:專業(yè)必修課 考核方式:筆試 開課學(xué)期:57學(xué)期 適用專業(yè):英語專業(yè)三、四年級(jí) 教學(xué)目標(biāo): 高級(jí)英語屬于英語專業(yè)高年級(jí)階段課程。它是基礎(chǔ)階段的綜合英語課程在高層次上的延續(xù)。高級(jí)英語是一門訓(xùn)練學(xué)生綜合英語技能尤其是閱讀理解、語法修辭與寫作能力的課程。通過閱讀和分析內(nèi)容廣泛的材料,包括涉及政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)、社會(huì)、語言、文學(xué)、教育、哲學(xué)、法律、宗教及自然科學(xué)等方面的名家作品,擴(kuò)大學(xué)生的知識(shí)面,加深學(xué)生對(duì)社會(huì)和人生的理解,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生對(duì)名篇的分析和理解能力、邏輯思維能力與獨(dú)立思考的能力,增強(qiáng)對(duì)文化差異的敏感性,鞏固和提高學(xué)生英語語言技能。每課后都配有大量的相關(guān)練習(xí),包括閱讀理解、詞匯研究、問題分析、中英互譯和寫作練習(xí)等。通過該課程的學(xué)習(xí),使學(xué)生的英語水平在質(zhì)量上有較大的提高。 教學(xué)基本要求: 1. 提高獨(dú)立工作能力,學(xué)會(huì)查找有關(guān)參考書,會(huì)自己動(dòng)手寫注釋、做筆記。 2. 培養(yǎng)分析、欣賞寫作技巧的能力。 3. 掌握基本的英語修辭手段的使用技巧。 4. 準(zhǔn)確掌握課文內(nèi)容,學(xué)會(huì)分析課文的寫作技巧,并能將其應(yīng)用于寫作。 5. 培養(yǎng)語篇分析能力,學(xué)會(huì)詞語釋義,即用英語解釋英語短語或句型轉(zhuǎn)換。 6. 逐步培養(yǎng)對(duì)語言與文化之間的關(guān)系的敏感性。 7. 學(xué)習(xí)、鞏固構(gòu)詞法、區(qū)分同義詞的差別,更好地掌握詞義。 課程基本內(nèi)容和學(xué)時(shí)分配: 第一學(xué)期: 本學(xué)期的教學(xué)內(nèi)容:張漢熙主編的《高級(jí)英語》第一冊的1至6單元,共72學(xué)時(shí)。 教學(xué)安排:本學(xué)期共需學(xué)習(xí)6個(gè)單元,根據(jù)課文難易程度及長短等方面,課時(shí)分配從9至12學(xué)時(shí)不等。其中背景知識(shí)介紹、相關(guān)文化知識(shí)介紹及文章結(jié)構(gòu)概述約需1—2學(xué)時(shí),課文講解約需5—8學(xué)時(shí),課后練習(xí)約需3學(xué)時(shí)。單元測試1學(xué)時(shí)。 教學(xué)要求:要求學(xué)生課前對(duì)每個(gè)單元的相關(guān)文化背景知識(shí)作必要的了解,預(yù)習(xí)課文;練習(xí)用英語對(duì)詞語、句子進(jìn)行釋義;認(rèn)識(shí)和辨別課文中出現(xiàn)的各種修辭手法;了解英語中各種文體的作用和特點(diǎn);在老師指導(dǎo)下分析、欣賞文章的寫作技巧、文章的結(jié)構(gòu)、語言特點(diǎn);學(xué)會(huì)查找參考書,并自己動(dòng)手寫注釋、做筆記等。 課程基本內(nèi)容和學(xué)時(shí)分配: Unit 1: The Middle Eastern Bazaar I . Ways of developing a piece of objective description: to begin with a brief general picture, divide the object into parts and organize the detailed description in order of space III . Effective Writing Skills 1. making effective use of specific verbs 2. using adjectives accurately 3. using five human senseshearing, smelling, seeing, tasting and touching to make the description vivid rhetorical devices properly IV .
