Qingming Festival, also called the Tomb Sweeping Day, is usually celebrated between April 4 and April 6. This festival dates back to 2,500 years ago. It’s a time for remembering loved ones who have passed away. When visiting the tombs of their lost loved ones, people usually sweep away the dirt and get rid of any weeds. They also offer varieties of food and flowers in front of the tomb. Some even burn paper money, hoping to keep the ancestors happy, as Chinese believe that the spirits of past ancestors look after the living. Qingming Festival also marks the beginning of the planting season and outdoor activities. So, in a way, on this day both life and death are respected. When and how do you pay your respect to your ancestors? Look forward to your reply.
