Portfolio Planning enpasses bringing in a specific opportunity into a formal gate decision as well as managing the portfolio on an ongoing basis. MGates 107 Project Definition Phase ? The Project Definition phase focuses on the development of detailed requirements for the system as a whole. ? These requirements include sourcing, manufacturing, distribution, services after sales support, marketing munication, channel distribution, technology, architecture, test strategies, and platform strategies. ? This phase culminates in the approval (or disapproval) of a contract book which represents an internal contract to ourselves and describes what we will deliver to the customer. MGates 63 Implementation Phase ? During this phase, the project team pletes any further elaboration/allocation of requirements and declares Design Readiness (Gate 6). ? The team then designs, implements, and tests the subsystem according to its own development techniques. ? Once satisfied with subsystem integration and test, a project business review declares System Test Readiness (Gate 5). ?
