Moreover, the translation of scenic spots has gradually bee one of the important researches in the field of translation in China. The Chinese government is constantly optimizing the environment of China39。s foreign tourism development. The translation of names of scenic spots is the first step in translation. A decent translation will arouse foreign people on a natural landscape or human geography interest. For that, the foreign visitors will be able to acquire knowledge of the humanities, geography, traditions, and environment. It will even stimulate the tourists39。s tourism industry. But on the whole, its quality is far from satisfying the needs of spreading Chinese culture and attracting target language readers. In this thesis the author collected and summarized some literatures at home and abroad. The definition of Scenic Spot NamesThe scenic spot names refers to the name of the landscape,the waterside pavilion,or the famous historical relics. These names or carved in stone, or written on the sign, or appear in the brochure, tourist guide, tourism promotion, tourism website map and so on. But these scenic spot names doesn39。s thesis is increasing in recent indicates that the translation of scenic spots has been continuously paid attention. According to the existing literature in China, the study of scenic spots English translation is mainly from three aspects,They are the types of theoretical induction, the types of problem countermeasure, and the types of cultural difference.The first is the theoretical induction,this kind of paper attaches great importance to the theoretical research. The basis theory of these literature is often to use some internationally recognized practical value of the theory as a starting point for China39。s scenic spots through the analysis of the different characteristics of the theories. At the same time through some examples to prove the feasibility of using the theories. Chen(2012)takes the functionalist translation theory skopos theory as guidance theory,to study the translation of the scenic spots of Zhangjiajie national Forest Park in Hunan. She put the names of scenic spots for detailed classification, and put forward the reader centered as a point of view. She present us that depending on the different situation to use the different flexible and effective translation methods to the scenic spots names.The second is the types of problem research of this kind of thesis is to find out the mon problems in the English translation in the scenic spots. In response to these problems, to find out the impact and analysis the cause reasons for these problems. Liu(2005), he points out the problems in the current stage of translation in china’s scenic spot names. He summed up the feasible translation methods for these exist problems. Wang(2009)and Liu(2008),in their literature work ,they pointed out that there are a lot of problem exist in scenic spot names,mon language,and public signs. For example,such as spelling errors, grammatical errors,forced translation,mechanical translation,arbitrary translation and so on. The final research stared from the angle of country between cultural differences. According to the different folk custom culture,we need to emphasis the points of concerned which show up in the process of the translation of scenic spot English. That is to say,how to convey the cultural views from China39。s scenic spots from the perspective of their own culture. Chang (2008)present us in the process of translation of scenic spots,while taking into account the cultural factors, that is, the crosscultural munication. Due to the different cultural backgrounds between two different countries, it would cause the deviation of understanding in the target language. Besides,from author’s view that in the translation of the names of the scenic spots, in order to achieve the purpose of easy to understand and the purpose of attracting tourists, the cultural factors should take fully account in the translation.
