They are not only the serious threats to human health, but also one major reason causing death, and many patients may get into a danger of death after heart attack as the result of failure to rescue and discover it in time. In order to capture the arrhythmia waveform, a more effective approach, which is based on the record of electrocardiogram for 24 hours or longer, is usually accepted to analyze ECG. But such kind of monitoring is more expensive and time consuming. They are not conducive to the patients with cardiovascular disease for the rapid detection and diagnosis but also make the doctors’ operation more plex and cumbersome. At the same time, they will increase investment of the hospital in equipment and the medical treatment cost of patients. Thus, it will be a very important and meaningful issue how to assist the doctors to detect and diagnose the cardiovascular disease. Virtual Instrument Technology (LABVIEW) is the product bining with the modern measurement techniques and puter technology, and can be used to enhance the flexibility and extendibility of testing through digital and software technology. This gradually makes it possible to design biomedical equipments based on virtual instrument, such as the integrated design of cardiac function detection and analysis system. This system mainly dealt with the designs of hardware, software and other function modules. In this paper, the cardiac function testing system, which is a putercontrolled, simple, open, flexible and practical detection system based on the virtual instrument, was designed with the help of software development platform (LABVIEW). With the advantage of III graphical language of LABVIEW, ECG signals acquired by the electrodes are displayed, analyzed, saved or printed by the programming software. This made the system suitable for ECG signal acquisition, datasaving and some signal processing algorithms. And the system could be used to assist doctors’ diagnosis better.
