Because of her Jocasta plex, she changed from a lovely lady to an old, ugly and crazy lady. 13 But the influence is not only this. Finally, Pauline won her relieves at a great cost of her own life. It is not difficult to see this is a tragedy. Pauline was found dead in her bed, having taken too much veronal. But did her death really free herself from Jocasta plex? Absolutely the answer is no. 2. Influence on Other Characters There is no question that Henry’s death was because of Pauline’s Jocasta plex. He was the first victim. Because of his mother’s prevention, he finally consumed away with grief, which caused his mother to make Robert bee the second victim.
