The positions of defects were formed mainly in the last solidification location, which results from the inadequate pouring of liquid metal and badly exhaustion of de2 position of the pattern. The thin2walled defects can be elim2 inated by imp roving the fire2resistance of refractory materials, choosing large size silicon sand and controlling the pouring ve2 locity. Effects of alloying elements in the stainless steel and heat treatment on m icrostructure and mechanical p roperties were analyzed. Larger riser should be set in investment casting to ensure the full feed2 ing for the stainless steel.
