Remove carefully the crankcase cover. Separate the head cover from the crankcase cover and take care to mark them.Remove and throw away the valves. Clean the valves39。 seats of the crankcase cover with alcohol and a clean piece of a rag or paper.With a screwdriver (taking care to not damage metallic surfaces), lift up two opposite sides of the membraneso as to be able to insert the membrane key, as shown on the next figure.Figure 2 Membrane keyPush the membrane key against the fastening disk then unscrew and remove carefully the fastening disk /membrane / support disk subassembly.Remove and mark the possible wedging washer placed between the connecting rod and the support disk.Take care to not let it fall inside the crankcase!Figure 3 Connecting rod (picture without wedging washer)Separate the membrane from the fastening disk and the support disk and throw it away. Take care to position the airtight part of the membrane to the side of the fastening disk.Lift up two opposite sides of the membrane so as to be able to insert the fastening disk / membrane / support disk subassembly inside the membrane key, as shown on the next figure.Figure 5Take care to not scratch the airtight side of the membrane during this operation.Put back the possible marked wedging washer on the connecting rod. Screw the fastening disk / membrane /support disk subassembly. Take care to not let the washer (if any) fall inside the crankcase when approachingthe subassembly.Remove the membrane key. Flatten the membrane.Put the new valves inside the heads cover. Put back the heads cover with valves in her casing in the crankcase.Keep rigorously their position, as shown on the next figure.Figure 6Put back the crankcase cover by shaking it a little bit in order to ensure that the heads cover are properly engaged.Screw very lightly up to the contact the 6 M6 screws, and then tighten progressively diagonally. The maximum torque to be applied is 6 Nm.Note: When you finish to tighten the cover39。s screws, check that the cover is not in contact with the crankcase.Turn the pump upside down and proceed with the same directions (2 and 3 subsections) for the bottom heads.Hold the banjo with a 16 mm wrench and tighten the upper connector with a 14 mm wrench (see figure 1). Do the same for the lower connector. 3 Operation CheckPlug the pump and switch it on. Check it is pumping by placing the hand palm on the suction it is not pumping, and moreover you listen a strong clacking, stop immediately the pump and check the positions of the valves (figure 6).If it seem the pump is operating properly, stop it too.Check now the pump efficiency with the measurement simulator. You must obtain a vacuum better than 2 mbar. For the directions of use of the simulator and its accessories, refer to the user guide supplied with thekit that describes them in details.After the check, put back the pump to its place at the back of the instrument. Connect the vacuum pipe on the suction inlet. Plug the power cord to the pump.Do not switch on now the vacuum system.
