They are changes that affect how we municate with each other, how we organize our daily activities, how we educate the younger generation, and how we run business. The development and wide adoption of information technology, puter network and Internet have transformed the mode of operation of many business, and at the same time have brought along unprecedented business opprtunities. Businesses are now able to conduct transactions across geographical boundartes, across time zones and at a high efficiency. ECommerce has bee the market trend of the Century.Electronic Commerce has almost overnight bee the dominant online quickly it has bee a significant element in mercial activities globally, particularly in the developed countries where suitable infrastructure support is available. ECommerce, of course, has no single definition, meaning only mercial activity which is somehow linked to or supported by electronic may be anything from a simple advertising presentation available on the World Wide Web, or an munication。 all the way to an entire multi million dollar transaction initiated and promulgated in electronic form up。 to and in some cases including the actual delivery via the net of information intensive goods or services[14].Electronic merce (EC) is defined as “the use of puter applications municating over networks to allow buyers and sellers to plete a transaction or part of an transaction.”It means using simple, fast and lowcost electronic munications to transact, without facetoface meeting between the two parties of the transaction. Now, it is mainly done through Internet and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). ECommerce was first developed in the 1960s. With the wide useof puter, the establishment of secure transaction agreement and the support and promotion of credit cards, the establishment of secure transaction agreement and the support and promotion by governments, the development of ECommerce is being prosperous, with people starting to use electronic means as the media of doing business.Potential Benefits of ECommerce(1) As puter network facilitates information exchange in a speedy and inexpensive way, Internet now penetrates into almost every er of the world. Highspeed network makes geographical distance insignificant. Businesses can sell goods to customers outside traditional markets, explore new markets and realize business opportunities more easily. Especially those small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) which cannot afford establishing overseas offices and strongholds can now increase their exposure to every corner of the world and forge global relationships with their trading partners everywhere in the world.(2) Businesses can gather information on products, on products, buyers and petitors though Internet so as to increase their own petitiveness. For example, detailed client information such as mode of consumption, personal prefernces and purchasing power ,ect. Can help businesses to set their marketing strategies more effectively.(3) Procurement costs can be lowered for all panies, regardless of size, due to the increased ability to transact electronically with one another. Data transmission cost can be lowered. A wideer net can be cast when searching for suppliers. Options for partnering with other films increase. The cost of the items purchased can also be lowered due to the ability to seek out and negotiate with a greater number of suppliers.(4) A reduction in inventory is desirable because of the associated reductions in storage, handling, insurance, and administrative costs. Internet electronic merce can help firms to more optimally order the inventories by electronically linking suppliers and prochasers together and allowing them to share updated production forecasts and projected inventory levels in order to allow both parties to collaboratively “finetune” their production and delivery schedules.
