【正文】 s… eg. She is twice as old as her son. 她的年齡是她兒子年齡的兩倍。as much as he used to (do) eg. He will be earning only half as much as he used to.to 的不定式省略了動(dòng)詞，當(dāng)說話人為了避免重復(fù)剛剛提過的動(dòng)詞時(shí)，動(dòng)詞不定式的動(dòng)作就被省略掉了。會(huì)用到省略形式的詞：want mean hope expect refuse seem intend eg. I asked him to go to the party but he refused to. 我邀請他參加派對，但他拒絕了。eg. I intended to go out for dinner with him, but he didn’t want to. 我本打算和他一起外出吃飯，但他卻不想去。rise in status 社會(huì)地位的上升rise in taxes 稅收增加rise in prices 物價(jià)上漲eg. The rise in prices gave rise to a series of social reactions. 物價(jià)上漲帶來了一系列的社會(huì)反應(yīng)。rise in the world 崛起eg.
