Imitation constitutes an integral part to technological innovations since human beings have successfully improved their living conditions and ushered in one era of cuttingedge technologies after another through learning from nature and other species living therein. This stands in agreement with Perspective Two that human beings have greatly benefited from inheritance of nature’s fortune and former achievements by our predecessors. By way of applying biological principles to engineering, countless bionic mechanisms and biomimetic products have been designed and manufactured. Sharkskin swimsuits after the outer skin of sharks, Velcro after burdock burrs, bullet trains after kingfishers, turbines after whale fins, dustproof paint after lotus petals, and the list goes further on. Rudimentary knowledge and imitation based thereon of our environment and other creatures provide innovations with a foundation to make consequent adaptations to in order to better acmodate human needs. On account of the significance of the two factors mentioned above, it should not be overlooked that the cooperation of creativity and imitation as is pointed out in Perspective Three, and their influences on one another has been occupying the center stage of human social development since day one of technological creations when human race had but a smattering of scientific knowledge. We evolved from barbarians during the primitive age to civilized members of modern society by means of observation and imitation of beings in our surroundings, alive or still, and occasional strikes of inspiration. Since time immemorial, humankind has harbored hopes of soaring high above the clouds and manding the views of gorgeous scenery, and generations of people devoted their life to creating and improving aircrafts. The Wright brothers stood out among people left unnamed in historical accounts, although they were not the first people to pilot an aircraft or to achieve powered flight, they earned their place by revolutionizing aviation controlling system, especially creating “wingwarping” to produce different inclinations of wings in prevention of the plane from rolling over. They are heir to the acplishments and experiments with different aircrafts of their forefathers enlightened by bird anatomy, yet they managed innovations the world had never seen before. Their success manifested that creativity and imitation are the two pillars of human civilization, without either of which no social progress can be dreamed of.9
