ned?Aladdin:I fell in love.Genie:Oh that explains it.Aladdin:You said that you would do anything for me didn’t you?Genie:Yes. I am your servant.Aladdin:Excellent. Come with me into the village tonight… and together we must defeat a maneating dragon.Genie:(looks a bit scared and surprised) But, I thought that you just wanted new shoes?Aladdin:Come on we don’t have much time! (They run out.)Peddler:(Enters) Aladdin and the Genie went into the village later that night, and what did they see… a dragon, with long sharp teeth and evil green eyes. (We hear the roar of a dragon. The peddler jumps) Oh my god! Oh excuse me… now where was I? Ah yes. The dragon was breathing fire and had a thick cloud of smoke ing from his nose. Aladdin and his magic Genie fought with that dragon. And whom do you think won? (Waits for audience response) Hmm… well just watch and see.SCENE 5Sultan:(Looking at his watch) Well, it seems as if Mr. Aladdin has disappeared. I guess that he must the end of your foolish friend. Probably dead… (Just then Aladdin enters)Aladdin:(He is carrying the head of a dragon) Father! I have passed your test sir. The dragon is dead.Sultan:You amaze me Aladdin. You killed the dragon. I underestimated you. You shall marry my daughter.Jasmine:Oh thank you father! (She runs to embrace him)Sultan:Come. We shall plan the wedding feast! My son!Aladdin:(Bows) Father. (Sultan exits) Oh I almost forgot. I have a present for you. (Aladdin pulls out the lamp.)Jasmine:It’s beautiful, but it’s much too valuable.Aladdin:A wedding present. (Jasmine takes the lamp and gives Aladdin a kiss.)Scene 1 〈地點(diǎn):at the palace 人物:the Emperor ,soldierA and soldierB〉 旁白: Many years ago lived an emperor. He thought so much of new clothes that he spent all his money in order to obtain them。 his only ambition was to be always well dressed. the only thing, in fact, he thought anything of was to drive out and show a new suit of clothes. He had a coat for every hour of the day. 很久以前有一個(gè)皇帝,他非常注重新衣服,因此他把他所有的錢都花在衣服上,他唯一的愿望就是每時(shí)每刻都能穿得很漂亮。實(shí)際上,他想的都是出去炫耀他的新衣服。他每天每個(gè)鐘頭都要換一套新的衣服。 One day, 有一天, The Emperor(to Soldiers): Are there any new things about clothes today? 皇帝(對(duì)士兵說(shuō)):今天有沒(méi)有有關(guān)新衣服的消息? SoldierA: Today two swindlers came to our city. They said they were the best weavers in the world. 士兵A:今天有兩個(gè)人來(lái)到我們的城市,他們說(shuō)他們是世界上最好的織工。 soldierB: And they said they could produce the finest cloth, their were not only beautiful, but the clothes couldn’t be seen to any man who was unfit for his office or stupid. 士兵B(niǎo):他們還說(shuō)他們能織出誰(shuí)也想象不到的最美麗的布。這些布的顏色和款式不僅僅非常好看,他們說(shuō),而且它縫出來(lái)的衣服還有一個(gè)奇異的作用,那就是凡是不稱職的人或愚蠢的人都看不見(jiàn)這衣服。 The emperor(thought): The emperor(thought):”That must be wonderful cloth ,if I dresses a suit made of this cloth, I can find out which men is unfit for their places or stupid. I must ask them to weave for me right now.” 皇帝(想):這一定是非常奇異的衣服,如果我能夠穿上這種布做成的衣服,我就能夠找出我的王國(guó)里哪些人是不稱職的,哪些人是聰明的,哪些人是愚蠢的。我要叫他們馬上織出這種布。因此 The emperor:(to soldierA):Find they and ask they make cloth for me. 皇帝(對(duì)士兵A說(shuō)):去叫他們給我織布。 soldierA :yes, I go out and do this thing now. 士兵A:是的,我立刻去。 The emperor:(to soldierB): Set up two rooms for them. 皇帝(對(duì)士兵B(niǎo)說(shuō)):準(zhǔn)備兩間房子給他們。 soldierB: yes, I do this thing now. 士兵B(niǎo):是的,我立刻去做。 旁白: two swindlers were asked to work in the two new pretended to be very hard at work, but they did nothing whatever on the rooms. They asked for the finest silk and the most precious goldcloth。 all they got they did away with, and worked at the empty rooms till late at night. 旁白:兩個(gè)騙子被叫到兩間新的房子里工作。他們假裝努力工作,實(shí)際上他們?cè)诜孔永锸裁炊紱](méi)有做。他們要求最好的絲綢和最貴的金線;他們把這些東西都裝進(jìn)他們的腰包,卻假裝在那些空房間里工作到深夜。 Scene 2 〈地點(diǎn):at the palace 人物:the Emperor ,old minister and CourtierA〉 Several days later: 幾天后: The emperor(thought):I should very much like to know how they are getting on with the cloth, But if I can not see it,I am a stupid man. I can’t do that. I must send somebody else first for see it. So, 皇帝(想):我很想知道他們的織布究竟織得怎樣了。但如果我看見(jiàn)見(jiàn)的話,那就說(shuō)明我是愚蠢的人。我不能這樣做,我應(yīng)該先派一個(gè)人去看看。因此, The emperor( to the old minister):you are honest and intelligent. So I want to know how about my new cloth. You go to the two new rooms and see about it. the old minister :yes, I do this thing now. 皇帝(對(duì)一個(gè)老大臣說(shuō)):我要找個(gè)誠(chéng)實(shí)和聰明的人去看看我的新布料,你去那兩間新房子看看。 Scene 3 〈地點(diǎn):in the room 人物:old minister ,swindlerA swindlerB〉 旁白:the old minister went to the two new rooms. 這個(gè)老大臣去到那兩間新房子。 the old minister (thought): Heaven preserve us! I cannot see anything at all, 這個(gè)老大臣(想):我的天啊,我什么都看不見(jiàn)。 swindlerA :hello! Mr Minister, you can e near and see clearly. 騙子A:你好,大臣先生,你可以走近點(diǎn),看清楚一點(diǎn)。 swindlerB: oh. Mr Minister, Did you see these finest pattern and beautiful colours. How wonderful is it! 騙子B:啊,大臣先生,看見(jiàn)這些美麗的花紋和漂亮的顏色嗎?多么美??! 旁白:The poor old minister tried his very best, but he could see nothing, for there was nothing to be seen. old minister thought, Oh dear, can I be so stupid? I should never have thought so, and nobody must know it! Is it possible that I am not fit for my office? No, no, I cannot say that I was unable to see the cloth. 這個(gè)可憐的大臣盡他最大的努力去看,可是他什么都看不到,以為那里根本就什么東西都沒(méi)有。 老大臣想:天啊,難道是我愚蠢的人?我從來(lái)都沒(méi)懷疑過(guò)自己,也不能讓任何人知道。難道是我不適合這個(gè)位置?不,不,我不可以說(shuō)我沒(méi)有看到布的。 swindlerA :Now, have you got nothing to say? 騙子A:現(xiàn)在你有什么意見(jiàn)嗎? 旁白:while swindlerB pretended to be busily weaving. Old minister: Oh, it is very pretty, exceedingly beautiful, What a beautiful pattern, what brilliant colors! I shall tell the emperor that I like the cloth very much. 當(dāng)騙子B假裝忙著編織,老大臣說(shuō):啊,多么美啊,美極了!多么漂亮的花紋啊,多么美麗的色彩??!我會(huì)呈報(bào)皇帝我對(duì)于這布非常滿意。 swindlerA and swindlerB: We are pleased to hear that, 騙子A和騙子B:聽(tīng)到你的話我們真高興。 旁白:swindlers described the cloth to him. The old minister listen carefully, so that he can relate to the emperor. Now the swindler asked for more money, silk and goldcolth.
