This is the second proposal submitted by Oracle in response to Hongkong Tele?s “Requested Scope And Strategy For Quotation From Suppliers” dated Oct 3, 1997. Oracle is fully mitted to its products and offers a fullservice, highly experienced consulting anisation for planning, analysis, installation, and support of those products. Oracle Consulting Services approach, experience, and mitment reflect the valueadded services offered to help Hongkong Tele meet key objectives and reduce the business risk associated with a largescale implementation effort. Oracle, a recognised market leader in information management worldwide, is a solutions leader in business systems which enable continuous process improvement across the extended enterprise, ., the entire supply chain. Oracle is well positioned to assist businesses with information systems that address the petitive environment of both today and tomorrow, via implementation of solutions based on its own Oracle Applications, suites of business systems designed and developed by Oracle specifically to drive continuous business improvement In developing this proposal, Oracle has taken note of the stated requirements for ? the time line, cost, and resources required to implement Phase 1 Logistics in 12 months, and Phase 2 Financials in another 6 months after the implementation of Phase 1 Logistics. ? a collaborative approach to further business problems, which would deliver incremental business improvements by addressing each problem as a separate project, with both the decision to proceed and the timing of each project to be decided by Hongkong Tele as and when appropriate. A summary of the key points of our proposal follows. Overview Oracle?s global capability will be applied via Oracle Hong Kong to deliver the Business Support System solution to Hongkong Tele in a timely and costeffective manner. Application of advanced technologies, such as Webenablement, Network Computing Architecture, Network Computing, BarCoding, Configurator, DSS The systems architecture of the Oracle Solution is illustrated in the following three figures, which show, for Option 1, Phases 1 and 2 and some possible future improvements. As Fig. ES6 shows, a notable feature of Oracle?s solution is that it embraces a number of legacy systems in Phase 2. The implementation of Phase 2 Financials can be pleted in 6 months. Based on Oracle?s phased approach, Hongkong Tele has the flexibility in deciding when Phase 2 should be implemented. It can be implemented at the later stage of Phase 1 (with some overlapping with Phase 1), or after the implementation of Phase 1, depends on Hongkong Tele?s resource availability.
