Gugenheim Museum (5th Avenue and 88th Street) This m useum owns 5,000 superb m odern pai ntings, sculptures and drawi ngs. These art works are not al di splayed at the sam e time. The exhi bition is al ways changi ng. It wil l apeal to those who l ove Im pressi onist and PostIm presionist pai ntings. The Guggenhei m Museum buil ding is also worl dfam ous. When you wal k i nto the gal ery, you feel as if you were i nside a fragil e, whi te seashel. The best way to see the pai ntings i s to start from the top fl or and wal k down to the botom. There are no stai rs, just a ci rcular path. The museum al so has an excel lent restaurant. Metropoli tan Museum of Art (5th Avenue and 82nd Street) The reputation of this m useum l ies i n the vari ety of i ts art col ection. Thi s covers m ore than 5, 000 years of civil zation from m any parts of the worl d, includi ng Am eri ca, Europe, Chi na, Egypt, other Afri can countries and South Am eri ca. The museum di splays m ore than just the vi sual deli ghts of art. It introduces you to anci ent ways of li vi ng. You can vi si t an Egypti an tem pl e, a fragrant Mi ng garden, a typi cal rom i n an 18th century French house and m any other speci al exhi bi ti ons. Museum of Modern Art (53rd Stret. Betwen 5th and 6th Avenues) It i s am azi ng that so many great works of art from the l ate 19th century to the 21st century are housed i n the sam e m useum. Some poem s tel a story or descri be som ething i n a way that wi l gi ve the reader a strong impressi on. Others try to convey certain emoti ons. Poets use many different forms of poetry to express themselves. In this text, however, we wil l ok at a few of the si m pl er form s. When congratul ati ng John, Mr Al an Southerton, Di rector of the Young Lifesaver Schem e said, “There is no doubt that John’s quick thinking and the first aid skil s he learned at school saved Ms Slade’s l ife.
