The substation is an important ponent of electric power system. It directly affects the safety and the economics of the whole electric power system. The substation is posed of electrical equipments connecting with the power lines. It receives the power from the system and delivers it to the loads safely, reliably and economically by transformation, distribution, transmission and protection. There are a lot of aspects to be considered in substation power supply system design. First of all, we need to analyze the task of the substation and its load, so that we can carry on the load calculation and determine the load grade according to the consumer information. In the thesis, a 35kV substation is designed. There are two voltage levels connecting to the station, and the low voltage level is 10kV. At the same time, transformers can be selected and the main connection can be designed. In the design, two transformers are selected. The sectionalized singlebus configuration is selected as the main connection. Next, we need to calculate the short circuit current in order to select the transmission line and electrical equipments in both high and low voltage, including the circuit breaker, isolating switch, current transformer and voltage transformer. The relay protection is also configured and setting to assure the reliable running, simple operation, convenience, economics, scalability and flexibility. The design has tried to make the scheme close to the actual situation and has realistic significance. In order to assure that the transformer can be cut off from the power system when short circuit happens, the transformer is configured with longitudinal differential protection. In order to improve the quality of power supply and realize the automatic control of the whole station and the transmission line, the integrated automation system of the substation is designed in brief. Finally, the lightning protection system is designed to protect the system from thunder and lightning. Through the scheme design, the safe operating and economic efficiency of the whole system can be assured. The design has given full play to the reliability, stability and continuity of system. So the design has realized a practical electrical scheme.
