But this amplification is different from what we discussed in Chapter IV. Here we mean to repeat the same words or phrases which are given previously in the version. Repetition is employed for the sake of clearness, for the sake of emphasis, and for the sake of vividness. 重復譯法主要體現(xiàn)在以下幾個方面： 英語中常重復使用前置詞，而將第二個、第三個前置詞的名詞省略，翻譯時則往往要把名詞重復； 英語句子常常用一個動詞連接幾個賓語或表語，在譯文中要重復這個動詞； 英語句子中動詞后有前置詞時，在第二次第三次往往只用前置詞而省略動詞，在譯文中則要重復動詞以代替英語中重復的前置詞； 英語中兩個并列句中后句的動詞承接前文省略，而在漢語中獨立的分句必須具備謂語，翻譯時必須重復譯出英語中省略的動詞。 （ 2）大多數的新煙民似乎都是女性，我的朋友誤以為她們是妓女也情有可原。 3.
